About the Conficker/Downadup/Kido Worm.Although the media has made a big event out of the Conficker worm, it's important to realise that if you've taken a few basic steps, you are unlikely to be affected by this worm. If you are regularly checking Windows Update for new Microsoft patches, you may already be protected against the vulnerability that is exploited to install the Conficker worm. If you have not, or are not sure, please ensure that you download the patch for MS08-67. There is more information from Microsoft about the Conficker worm available at these Microsoft Websites http://www.microsoft.com/protect/computer/viruses/worms/conficker.mspx If you have installed and are actively updating an anti-virus program, such as K7 Total Security, available from K7 Computing, then you are also protected, as most anti-virus is able to detect all current variants of the Conficker worm. If you have not updated your anti-virus recently, or your license has expired we recommend you do update it immediately.
